Energy Recovery part numbers and what they refer to

In short: Energy Recovery part numbers have five digits, a hyphen and two more digits, for example 40009-01. The number for a complete device is on its nameplate, next to the serial number. Numbers for kits and tools are in the installation and operation manual for each model. Send us the number and the device serial number and we will quote it.

Where to find the part number

On the device. Every PX pressure exchanger and turbocharger has a nameplate showing the Energy Recovery part number and a serial number. The part number identifies the model and build. The serial number identifies the individual device, and it is what Energy Recovery uses to look up exactly how that device was built.

In the manual. The installation and operation manual for each model lists the part numbers of its spares kit and tool kit, and usually has an exploded drawing with item numbers. If you have the manual that came with the plant, the numbers in it are the right ones for your device.

On a previous order. A past purchase order or Energy Recovery quotation is a reliable source, because the numbers on it were already confirmed against your equipment.

If you do not have a part number

Many enquiries arrive without one. That is normal, particularly for older plants where the manual has been lost. Send the following and we will get the number confirmed:

We send these to Energy Recovery, who identify the part against the serial number. This takes a little longer than quoting a known number, but it avoids ordering the wrong part.

Why the serial number matters

Two devices of the same model are not always identical. Energy Recovery has revised its designs over the years, and a part that fits a recent device is not guaranteed to fit a much older one. A part number taken from another plant’s paperwork, or from a general list such as the one above, is a starting point. The serial number is what makes the answer certain. For that reason we always ask for it, even when the part number looks obvious.
